Today I woke up and I had to call the U.S Federal Department of Education about my student loans (terrifying) and I also had to finish filing taxes and that meant paying whatever balance I owed (also terrifying). Yeah, I procrastinated 6 months to the day, don’t judge me.
But then I had a thought: let it be easy. I woke up and meditated, I cleared my mind of everything but the good. I decided that today would be awesome, and something else besides student loans and taxes would set me into a high vibe mood. I focused on money coming IN instead of it going OUT.
I went about my day of crappy tasks and then I began my
work. After completing my workday and to-do list, I checked my email.
There was an email I have been waiting for since the beginning of the year! It’s October and I have been waiting all year to hear back from this person.
Some backstory: If you didn’t know already, I’m a writer. I am a self–employed girl and so all of my income streams are important. Late last year and early into this year, I lost a writing job that provided almost all of my income at the time. I was pretty devastated. But then, something amazing happened a few weeks later. They emailed me and asked me to continue working for them. I was elated. So, I went ahead and sent them my price sheet and list of services and I awaited a response. I never got a response.
All of the limiting beliefs flooded in as weeks and weeks passed with
no answer. I felt not good enough to write for this big company. I felt not
worthy of large amounts of money they were paying me. I decided they probably hired
a better, much more qualified writer.
Today, I received that email. After MONTHS. They apologized for the time that had passed and they are hiring me to write 15–25 articles at a higher rate than before!
Lately, I have been working HARD. And by “working hard” I mean
diving deep into my limiting beliefs and squashing them one by one. Now, why is
it that I finally got that email now and not nine months ago?
Because I feel worthy of it now. Because I know I’m ready for it now. I deserve it, I’ve declared it, and I already knew it was mine. I mean the money and the work are mine, how it came in was not my business. It’s up to God/Universe/Angels, WHOMEVER you believe in to decide that.
All I have to do is the mindset work to know I’m valuable, to know that I have gifts to share with the world, and that my services are worthy of compensation.
As long as you believe in yourself, things will fall into place.
A couple of years ago, I saw a post about music that can heal DNA. My curious mind immediately Googled this, because how could that be? It barely seems possible! So, I decided to find my way to YouTube to check out 528 HZ music and when I began to listen, it was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard. I was sold. I soon learned that the sounds I was listening to were called Solfeggio frequencies and of course, I began my research on them. It turns out, nobody really knows much about these frequencies. There is limited information on them and they are certainly not mainstream. It seems to me, that most healing, divine and spiritual things are purposefully hidden from the mainstream consciousness, but more on that later. DNA altering or not, I began to listen to this music nearly every day and I have been since then. I began to notice that there were other frequencies besides 528 HZ and I started listening to those as well. I was blown away. Again, they were the most powerful, beautiful sounds I have ever heard.
frequencies are mathematically in harmony with the patterns of the
universe. The frequencies are the same sounds of the earth. This musical scale
is known for healing tissues, easing physical pain, opening consciousness,
liberating fears, and yes–healing DNA.
I’d like to mention that I am in no way an expert about music nor do I have all the facts about ancient history. But, I am a huge fan of this 9–tone scale. I sleep to these sounds, play them in the background while I work, and I definitely allow these beautiful vibrations to fill my home.
If you have pets like I do, you’ll notice your pets might come around closer to the sounds, or fall asleep immediately. Your house plants might flourish. You will probably will feel very relaxed within minutes. Whenever I find myself in a horrible mood, these frequencies can eventually lift my bad mood and put me in a more relaxed state.
So, what are the Solfeggio frequencies and how can we use them?
The ancient Solfeggio scale is also known as “Just Intonation” and originally had only six frequencies on the scale, with another three found since. (You will see even more frequencies if you do a little research, too.) The frequencies can be traced back to biblical times and were used in soothing Gregorian chants. Gregorian chants are the sacred monophonic music of the Roman Catholic Church. The chants are sung in Latin (or Greek). Listening to these chants are incredibly relaxing and calming, even if you’re not a religious person (I’m not), they are worth a listen.
It’s not accurately known when exactly the frequencies were
discovered, but in the 11th century a Benedictine monk named Guido
d’Arezzo introduced this musical scale.
Monks used the Solfeggio frequencies 396, 417, 528, 639, 741, and 852 in Gregorian chants.
Now for the controversial part: The frequencies were lost in the 16th
century and nobody knows why. It baffles me that the Roman Catholic Church
would lose beautiful music in the world’s purest form of tones.
In any case, there are theories. Some say the 6–tone scale was
abandoned for a more modern scale. Some say it was a plot to keep biblical
secrets hidden. Europe was in political and religious turbulence at this time,
so some say it was due to that.
The Solfeggio scale was replaced with the musical scale we still use today called the Twelve–Tone Equal Temperament. The Solfeggio scale is said to be in perfect alignment with the natural sounds of the Earth, but the scale musicians now use to tune their work is apparently out of alignment with the sounds of nature.
We are part of nature. It’s said that we humans are made of stardust,
we are technically made of the stuff of the cosmos, including our earth. Some
would argue that anything that is out of alignment with the earth’s natural
rhythms can manifest poor health in us–whether it be physical sickness or
If the Solfeggio frequencies supposedly heal our DNA, ease pain, and
open our consciousness it is possible that the out of sync frequencies can do
the opposite to us?
Like I said, I’m no expert, but it’s definitely some food for thought.
I have no proof this music can lead to miracles, but I am hooked on listening
to it. If everything in the universe is made up of energy and vibrations, then
perhaps there is something to these divine frequencies. If you aren’t
convinced, just listen to a few tones.
I accidentally became a writer. When I was so bored doing what I was supposed to be doing, I started writing instead.
I’ve been writing every day for two years. I started getting paid to write. I pissed off some people. I made some cry tears of joy.
I make a lot of mistakes. I cringe at some of the things I’ve written.
Some people told me to get a “real” job. I have a real job. I pay real taxes to prove it.
I’m a motherfucking writer, and thousands of people a week read my words. And, it’s the most money I’ve ever made. Not at first, but over time I’ve made more and more. I don’t have a boss. I wake up at noon.
Don’t give up when things don’t look “realistic.” Don’t give up doing something you’re good at. Don’t give up on something that feels right when others are telling you it’s wrong.
If I had listened to the people who told me lies about “starving artists” or getting a “secure” 9 to 5, I never would have made my dream come true.
Here’s the thing: There is no such thing as a “real” job. Having a 9 to 5 job doesn’t guarantee your security. There is nothing safe about working for someone else. Many people in the arts aren’t starving. There are millionaire poets. Millionaire painters.
Whatever, don’t let anyone who thinks narrower thoughts than you do dictate what you should or shouldn’t do.
Okay, how many people have found themselves unhappy or unfulfilled with their lives? I’ve been there and I think it’s safe to say that almost everyone has felt this way before.
In the past, I felt this way many, many times. I felt unhappy so I would change jobs, change boyfriends, or move somewhere new. I always blamed restless feelings on something. I thought if one thing or another was different, I would feel better. Here’s the thing: eventually I would go back to feeling unfulfilled and restless again.
If you want your life to be different, stop trying to change external things and do this instead:
If you want to change, you have to step into the new person you want to be. You cannot stay the same person and add minor changes. Very little, if anything will change.
I’m talking about shifting your reality into something new.
Here’s how to do it:
You step into that new person, the person that you want to be. Don’t try to change your life, change yourself instead. Start inward and soon everything around you will shift. This is how we make exponential changes.
Get out your journal and ask yourself these three questions:
WHAT does this version of you do?
What kind of HABITS does this new version of you have?
What kinds of THOUGHTS does the new you have?
Envision yourself as your best self. Start showing up as her. Do the things she does, form the habits she has, and think the thoughts she thinks.
BECOME her. You cannot stay the same version of yourself and expect grand changes. You might start to change a few things and then, inevitably, you will go back to your old ways unless you find a way to create a new version of yourself. Become your higher self. We all have a high-vibe higher self. This is the best version of ourselves.
I used to work jobs I hated. I felt like I had very little freedom. I was constantly restless. I wanted to have a life of freedom and I wanted to work for myself. I wanted to work on my own terms: when I wanted and how I wanted.
Two years ago, I started writing every single day. The best version of myself was a laptop-lifestyle queen who wrote for a living. Writing everyday was BEING who I wanted to become. My new habit was writing. Changing my thoughts was the hardest part and honestly, it’s something you have to remind yourself of everyday. I had to change my thoughts into ones that allowed me to become a successful writer. I still work on this part.
Looking back, I completely changed who I was by stepping into the version of myself I wanted to be. I am happier. I am more content. My life and work are fulfilling.
When I have bad days, I remind myself who the best version of myself is: She’s free, she loves what she does, she tries to offer value through her written words.
I’m not perfect. I don’t have all the answers. I’m just a girl working on being her best self.
Who is your best self? She’s already in you, you just have to become her.
Have you heard of a vision board? Most people probably have, but if you haven’t heard, vision boards are a place where you can use pictures to symbolize the goals you want to achieve.
This is the “vision” you have for what you want. Making a vision board can be done a few ways. Back in the day, people made boards by pinning pictures to cork boards, or using magazine cutouts and making a poster. Now, many people create digital boards made with Canva, Pinterest, or other apps.
Here are tips, tricks, and how to make a kick ass vision board!
The subconscious mind uses symbols and pictures. Visuals are important to the subconscious. Choose pictures that make you respond some type of way. A picture of a vacation spot might make you feel desire or excitement. A picture of love might make you feel content. It’s important to choose pictures that have meaning to you and provoke some kind of feeling.
If you think about advertisement and marketing, we are always shown a visual that represents how the product, food, or service being advertised will make us feel. Images are powerful to the subconscious, even more so than words are.
You are free to create a vision board that contains words, too! It’s your board, and if you’d like words, quotes, or affirmations on it, go for it.
Aristotle once said, “The soul never thinks without a picture.”
What you see in your mind, you will see in your life. There is a tiny part of the brain called the reticular activating system. In simple terms, it takes the most important pieces of information and filters them. Imagine how many things the brain encounters even in a minute. There are things going on around you that your eyes can either decide to pick up on or not. There are thousands of sounds. Your skin is feeling everything that touches it. Imagine how crazy we would go if we focused on every single thing in our environment that affects us.
So, the brain decides what’s important right now and what’s not. You might notice something that is a threat to you immediately. Other things might not even come into your awareness just because the mind will pick and choose what it needs to at any given moment.
Perception is important. Have you ever heard someone who was in a car accident say “that car came out of nowhere!” Well, we know the car didn’t just appear. The driver didn’t see it because the driver’s brain was paying attention to something else. It doesn’t mean the driver wasn’t paying attention at all, the brain was focusing on what it deemed most important at the moment.
The reticular activating system’s job is to show you the things that are important to you.
Have you ever learned about something new and suddenly you see it more often, when before you had never even seen anything about it? Have you ever gotten a specific car and suddenly you see other drivers have the same car? Or have you ever wanted a specific kind of car and you start to see it around all the time? This is the RAS at work. It’s showing you something that is now important to you.
When we make our vision boards, we are focusing on what is important to us.
Attract what you focus on. In life, we get what we focus on. It doesn’t matter if you are focusing on good things or bad things, the things you focus on the most are going to show up in your life.
So many people focus on what they don’t want. Then, the things that you don’t want show up. I cannot tell you how many times I have attracted my fears, because I was focusing on them.
Your vision board is a way to focus on what you want! Shift your mindset to thinking about what you do want instead of what you don’t want.
A vision board can be a daily reminder to focus on your desires.
Get clear on what you want.
If you aren’t clear, your life won’t be. How do you want your life to be? What do you want to be, do, or have? Vision boards are an excellent way to get clear on what you want! Do you constantly live the same life over and over again? Every year is really the same? You don’t find yourself growing or doing any of the things you really wish you were. Well, it’s time to get clear on focusing on how you want your life to be if that’s the case.
There are no rules for the creation of your board.
You create it however you want it to be. If you decide to make a digital board, I love using Pinterest. You can find any image on Pinterest. You can make a secret board so all of your followers don’t see it. If you don’t want all of your Pinterest followers to see your vision board, then pin to a secret board. You can also use the free resource Canva. Canva is amazing for creating any type of visual. You can even size your board using the templates for desktop or phone backgrounds.
Think about what YOU want.
Don’t add things to your vision board that you aren’t really passionate about. Unless you want it with all your heart, there is no need for it on your board. Why? Because why is it worth manifesting something you don’t really desire? Don’t put things your parents want you to do, or something you think you should do. Don’t copy anyone else’s board. Create your own board, with your own visuals that speak to you.
Don’t limit yourself.
It’s supposed to be your dream life! If you have limiting beliefs that making a million dollars is greedy or you don’t ever think you could have that much money, then you are selling yourself short! Your vision board is supposed to be a creation of a life beyond your wildest dreams! So, go ahead, put some wild things on your vision board! It’s not meant to be a depiction of your limited desires. Don’t put just $100,000 on your vision board because you don’t think $1,000,000 is attainable. This is supposed to be the place where you can place your truest, biggest desires.
Keep your vision board private.
I don’t share my vision board with anyone, the same way I don’t share my desires with anyone. The reason for this is that I don’t need other people to place their own limiting beliefs on me. Start telling people that you are going to be a millionaire, and just listen to the responses you get. If you have ridiculous desires and wild goals, then you are free to believe in them.
Others, though, will have doubts and limiting beliefs that they will share with you. You don’t really need anyone to cast their doubts onto you. If you are really good at deflecting, and you don’t mind people pissing on your parade, then by all means, show them that vision board of yours!
Put your vision board where you can see it!
I look at my vision boards (I have 3) daily. If that works for you, then look at it daily. Really, there are no rules for how often you see your board. There are stories of people shoving their vision boards in a closet and never looking at them, and years later, they realized they actually manifested the exact things on their boards! I do urge you to look at your board, because it is a fun visual for you to focus on the things you want, but it is up to you.
Relax and be creative.
There is no need to complicate making a vision board. It’s meant to be a creative process for you. It’s meant to be fun and uplifting. It’s not meant to be stressful. You cannot even imagine how many people get stressed out over making the perfect board. It’s really not meant to be stressful. You can drink some wine and make a board. Play some music or put on a movie and make your vision board. You can’t go wrong, it’s a personal project! Done by you and meant for you.
THIS IS IMPORTANT:
The most important thing to remember when creating your board is that, you aren’t in charge of when things manifest. It’s not your job to know when, where, or how things manifest. Your job is to believe and trust in life and know that everything will happen for your highest good. If you don’t believe that, then it won’t be true for you. The timing isn’t your job. You have NO idea what lies ahead of you! It’s not your place to decide when things unfold for you. Everything happens in the right time, and it’s not up to you to decide when or how. Enjoy the process and believe your dreams will be answered. And it is done.
Have FUN! Choose images that provoke a FEELING in you. When I look at my vision board, I feel so excited. Happy creating!
Somewhere inside of all of us, we are afraid of change.
Why are we afraid of change? For one, we are afraid to fail. This is the most obvious and likely reason we fear change. There was a time in life when you tried something and it didn’t work out.
Failure is embarrassing. You feel failure on every level. From this, we decide that we never want to feel the shame and disappointment of failure.
So, we decide that if nothing changes, nothing can fail, and we won’t have to feel that emotion anymore. Sound familiar?
On the other hand, some people are afraid of success. You’re thinking, how could anyone fear success?
Well, we know that if we make a decision and we actually succeed, things around us are going to change. The people around us might change in reaction to our success. We might change our behaviors to adjust to success. Our surroundings could change as well. If suddenly, you are propelled into new success, things will inevitably change.
I fancy myself as a person who loves and embraces change. So, I am the person who feels scared but makes a change anyway. This is a strength of mine. I don’t let being scared hold me back.
But, even I mess up my opportunities for change. I do this by self-sabotaging. I’ll start to blame things for why I can’t change and I’ll revert back to the same old thing before the major change can happen. This is my downfall. Can you relate?
Sometimes we sabotage something out of fear and blame outer sources for not continuing. This is a fear-based move. If you’ve ever sabotaged an opportunity for yourself out of fear, ask yourself if you actually have any evidence that this change isn’t going to work. Or, are you just telling yourself stories in reaction to fear?
Fear messes us up. As adults, we’ve been conditioned to fear things just by living. Imagine babysitting a toddler. Toddlers do all sorts of crazy things, because they haven’t been taught to fear anything yet. As they grow and we teach them about every single danger that lurks, they become more cautious. Even as egocentric teenagers, we still believe we are in some ways invincible.
As adults, we have learned to play it safe. But where does fear hold us back? It seems to me that we need to strike a good balance between playing it safe and knowing when to leap. This is where I listen to my intuition.
If you feel a strong urge to make a leap, do it and do it all while you’re afraid. No one has ever achieved anything great in life without taking an enormous leap.
Imagine how crazy Albert Einstein seemed to citizens of his time. Imagine how crazy Henry Ford seemed when he said he could make affordable cars for all. And the Wright brothers actually wanted to make a flying contraption for people to ride in?! At some point in time, these people made extremely daring moves. They didn’t give up, they persisted, and…changed the freaking world.
These people seemed eccentric and maybe a bit insane for their time, but just look at how they changed the world by doing something out of the ordinary!
Change is scary. No doubt about it. But you have to decide that staying stagnant is scarier. If you aren’t really living up to your potential, then the world is missing out on your value. If you have something you want to bring to the table, but you’ve just been too scared, then consider making a frightening leap.
First of all, is a person who judges you, shames you, or gossips about you really an asshole? Well, let’s dive in.
People’s judgments of you are a reflection of them, not you.
We all judge. It’s human nature to notice, reflect, and judge based on what we see. Our initial judgments are snap decisions most of the time. Sometimes judgments are based on our intuition or past experiences.
Judgment isn’t necessarily a bad thing, because we use it to direct ourselves or avoid certain people and places, and that is our free will. The point is: our judgments of others are based on ourselves. Our perceptions of the world belong to us, and each of us is different based on this alone.
So when people judge you, remember that their perception of you isn’t real. Their perception is not a fact, it is their opinion, which is based on so many different factors.
When we are judged, we feel bad about ourselves. It hurts to feel judged in the wrong ways. When people don’t mirror back to us what we see, we second guess ourselves. Sometimes we shift ourselves, monitor our words, or try to maintain ourselves in a way to comply with other’s judgments.
People want to be liked. People want to belong. If we are harshly judged by others, we tend to conform to how they want us to be instead of who we are.
I propose this: Be yourself and do your thing in the face of judgment. When you realize that judgment is nothing but perception and perception is only real to the person holding it, then everything changes.
People’s opinions are NOT facts. So, why would you believe anything that isn’t fact? I hurts, I know. It’s human to attack, be pissed or to retaliate. But, once you realize that it’s the other person’s problem, you regain all of your power.
THERE IS POWER IN BEING UN-BOTHERED. No one has the power to make you feel any type of way, if you don’t let them.
Do not let yourself be bothered by other’s critiques of you. When you hold yourself in high regards, you won’t be affected by other’s harsh judgments. Send them love and light and remain who you are.
